Motor Selection & Specifications

What is the largest BLDC motor you can provide?

The largest BLDC motor currently available is rated at 96 VDC, 20 kW and 100 Nm.

Can you provide a 5 kW BLDC motor operating at 24 VDC?

Yes. A 5 kW, 24 VDC BLDC motor rated at 2,000 rpm and 25 Nm is available. According to the original FAQ, 5 kW is the highest available power at 24 VDC.

Does the 48 V version of the 2.0 kW BLDC motor provide the same speed and torque as the other voltage versions?

Yes.

Controllers & Speed Control

Can a BLDC motor operate without a controller?

No. A BLDC motor requires a suitable controller for electronic commutation and speed control.

Can the controller connect to a PLC for speed and alarm monitoring?

It depends on the controller model. Controllers equipped with RS232 or RS485 communication interfaces can support this function.

How do I disable the internal potentiometer on the BLDC-100A controller?

Turn the RV adjustment on the controller fully counterclockwise.

What type of external potentiometer should be used with the 2 hp BLDC motor?

Use a 10 kΩ potentiometer for external speed adjustment.

Can you provide a higher-capacity controller with an aluminum housing for the 1/2 hp BLDC motor?

Yes. A higher-capacity controller with an aluminum housing is available as an optional configuration at an additional cost.

Can the controller connect directly to an Arduino?

This depends on the controller’s communication interface and supported input signals. Please confirm the exact controller model and Arduino control requirements before connection.

Power Supply & Electrical Requirements

What power supply voltage is required for the matched controller?

The controller’s supply voltage should match the rated voltage of the motor.

Can the BLD-100A controller be powered by a 52 VDC supply?

Yes. The BLD-100A accepts an input voltage from 24 to 72 VDC, so a 52 VDC power supply can be used.

What are the starting and rated input requirements of the 2 kW, 48 VDC BLDC motor?

The starting power can reach approximately twice the rated power, or 4 kW, and the minimum rated input current is 51.3 A.

What brake voltage is required for the 100 W BLDC motor kit?

The brake requires a 24 VDC power supply. A suitable switching power supply or lithium battery may be used.

Do you supply both the controller and DC power supply for the 2 hp BLDC motor?

The matched controller is available, but the DC power supply is not included.

Gearboxes, Torque & Shaft Loads

What is the estimated output torque of a 2 kW BLDC motor combined with a 200:1 planetary gearbox?

For a motor rated at 10 Nm, the estimated gearbox output torque is:

10 Nm × 200 × 0.9 ≈ 1,800 Nm

This calculation assumes a gearbox efficiency of 90%. The actual permissible output torque must not exceed the gearbox’s rated torque.

What shaft loads are permitted for the 40:1 and 50:1 planetary gearboxes?

According to the The maximum radial force is 2,840 N and the maximum axial force is 2,100 N.

Installation & Mechanical Customization

Can you provide a BLDC motor with a customized C-Face mounting flange?

Yes. The mounting flange can be customized according to the required installation dimensions.

Can the 5 kW DC motor be installed vertically?

Yes. The motor can be mounted vertically when the installation method, shaft load and operating conditions meet the product requirements.

Can an electromagnetic brake be added to the shaft of the 2 hp BLDC motor?

Two questions for this 2HP BLDC motor.

Q1:What is the specs of potentiometer that can be used with your 2HP BLDC motor?
Q2. Are your BLDC motor continuous duty? And what do they need for cooling anything?

For Q1: When using the external potentiometer to adjust the speed, use the potentiometer with resistance value of 10KΩ.
For Q2: Yes, continuous duty (24/7). No external cooling is required (Environment Temperature should be: -20~55℃).

Does the exposed shaft end affect the motor’s IP rating?

The exposed shaft end does not affect the motor’s stated IP54 protection rating, and no additional closure is required.

Operation, Cooling & Environmental Conditions

What duty cycle do your BLDC motors support?

The available duty cycle depends on the motor model, load, speed, controller settings and cooling conditions. Please refer to the datasheet of the selected motor.

What is the operating temperature range of the BLDC motor?

The operating temperature range is −20°C to 50°C.

Can the 2 hp BLDC motor operate continuously?

The motor supports continuous 24/7 operation.

Does the 2 hp BLDC motor require external cooling?

No external cooling is required when the motor operates within the specified load and ambient-temperature limits.

What is the maximum allowable motor-housing temperature?

The maximum motor-housing temperature is 85°C.
